Nuisance Complaints

The Van Wert County Health Department receives and responds to a variety of nuisance complaints including sewage overflows, large accumulations of garbage, conditions that encourage breeding of mosquitoes and other problems that could affect the health and safety of the public.  Environmental health staff will work with property owners to encourage timely correction of these problems.  Board of Health orders are issued as needed and unresolved matters referred to the County Prosecutor or City Law Director for appropriate legal action.
